Clayton County Conservation is pleased to announce the next Older, Wiser, Livelier, Souls trip. O.W.L.S. will head to K & K Gardens in Hawkeye, Iowa on Thursday, May 20th.  Please meet at Osborne park at 10:00 a.m. to carpool.

This year’s theme is “O.W.L.S Favorites” and programs are inspired from the past to offer participants a wide variety of topics and trips this season. Gardening programs have been a big hit, so we are heading next to K & K Gardens owned by Keith & Kelli Kovarik.

Since opening their garden center in 1996, it has blossomed and offers more than 40,000 different plants, uniquely displayed, on nearly an acre of enchanting perennial gardens with endless ideas for every gardener. Featuring a huge selection of daylilies and hostas wander their perennial and water gardens to see what inspires you.

After the program there will be the option of lunch at a local restaurant for those who wish to dine out. Register by calling (563) 245-1516 or visit

In response to the pandemic, we are offering limited shuttle options, carpooling, and the option for participants who wish to drive themselves to our field trip locations to caravan with us from Osborne Park.
