The commission’s mission statement: “To promote the preservation of the history of Clayton County. The Clayton County group functions best as a central contact for other local historic preservation groups and as a facilitator of historic education.”

One of goals for the Clayton County Historic Preservation Commission is to put the present into perspective by understanding the past.
