Testimonial from visitor to Strawberry Point, Summer 2011

I'm pleased to inform you that our resent visit to Strawberry Point was quite enjoyable and will leave good thoughts in our minds and warm feelings in our hearts.  Everyone that we came into contact with was friendly and cheerful.  Everyone!!  We started our visit with a 1 1/2 hour tour of the Berry Nice Antiques shop in which the owners helped to entertain our group of children whose ages are 7,8 and 9.  Even feeding them fruit snacks and tootie rolls while we all shopped for the perfect remembrance of our fine day.  We enjoyed it as if it was a museum and the prices are exceptionally fare.  I would recommend this antique shop to everyone.  Since the temperature felt warmer than 100F, we spent the entire afternoon swimming at the city pool.  The pool was very clean and the young workers their were very professional and respectful.  Of course we charished our $1.00 ice cream.  Next off to Strawberry Point Drug for an old fasioned fountain soda.  So hard to decide which flavor, but I do reccommend the cherry lime, it is super and again friendly service at Strawberry Point Drug.  So happy to make it to the farmers market, where I purchased a giant kohlrabi for a friend who loves them.  I kid you not when I tell you it was the size if a large cabbage!  I saw that there were some very fine baked goods for sale and many others quality items including crafts and homemade jams.  Time to visit Back Home Country Cooking.  So delicious and very filling, we couldn't even eat our desert so we took it with us and enjoyed it in the evening as we played Yahtze at Aunt B's Inn.  We all shared a piece of Peanut Butter Pie!!  It was so good!  I was the only one out of our group of 5 to have ever had this type of pie.  I have had it many years ago when staying with an aunt in Florida.  I have never seem it on a menu in this area until I visited Back Home Country Cooking.  Before leaving for home in the morning we stopped at Strawberry mart for sandwiches from the deli and were also treated very good and the women in the deli made our sandwiches to order (cut in half, lettuce but not mayo on half, etc.)and they were very delicious!       Someone is doing something right in the management of Strawberry Point, that's the only way we can explain the kindness, friendliness and happiness that we experienced.  Way to go!!  We will be back and we will share these good things with friends.
